Participant Agreement, Release & Assumption of Risk

By participating in ice skating activities at the Winter Rink (“the Rink”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that ice skating involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, collisions with other skaters, contact with rink boards, skate-related injuries, and exposure to cold temperatures. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in these activities.

2. Health & Physical Condition
I certify that I and/or the minor skater I am registering are in good physical condition and capable of safely participating in ice skating activities. I agree not to skate if experiencing any medical conditions, injuries, or impairments that may increase the risk of harm.

3. Safety Rules
I agree to follow all posted and verbal safety rules and instructions provided by rink staff. I understand that failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the rink without refund.

4. Release of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to participate, I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless the Winter Rink, its owners, employees, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to injury, disability, death, or property damage resulting from participation in ice skating activities, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and defend the Rink from any liability, damages, or costs incurred as a result of my own (or my minor participant’s) actions, negligence, or failure to follow posted or verbal instructions.

6. Equipment Responsibility
I understand that rental skates and any skating aids (such as “Bobby the Seal” or other devices) must be used responsibly and returned in the condition provided. I agree that misuse of equipment may result in additional charges or denial of future participation.

7. Photography & Media (Optional)
I grant permission for the Rink to use photographs or video taken during activities for promotional or informational purposes without compensation. (If you need this optional line removed, let me know.)

8. Parent/Guardian Consent (for minors)
If I am signing on behalf of a minor, I certify that I am their parent or legal guardian and I consent to their participation. I agree to all terms of this waiver on behalf of the minor.
