By registering for and/or participating in the December Dash (the “Event”), including but not limited to the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or Marathon distances, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in running events involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls; collisions with other participants, spectators, vehicles, or fixed objects; weather-related hazards; road or surface conditions; dehydration; overexertion; equipment failures; and other risks that may cause serious injury, illness, or death.

I voluntarily choose to participate in the Event with full knowledge and acceptance of these risks.

2. Release of Liability

In consideration for being permitted to participate, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, and discharge the Event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, partners, property owners, municipalities, and all other persons or entities associated with the Event (“Released Parties”) from any and all liability, including claims for personal injury, illness, property damage, or wrongful death arising from or related to my participation in the Event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

3. Fitness to Participate

I certify that I am physically fit, sufficiently trained, and medically able to participate safely in the Event. I am not aware of any medical condition that would make my participation unsafe.

I agree to abide by any decision of an Event official concerning my ability to safely participate.

4. Medical Consent

I authorize Event personnel and medical providers to administer first aid or medical treatment deemed necessary. I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical costs incurred as a result of my participation.

5. Weather, Cancellations & Refunds

I understand that the Event may be delayed, modified, or canceled due to weather, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond the organizers’ control.

I acknowledge that all registrations are non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation, postponement, or my inability to participate.

6. Compliance with Rules

I agree to follow all Event rules, instructions, course markings, and safety guidelines, including any required equipment or pacing restrictions.

Failure to comply may result in disqualification or removal from the Event.

7. Photo & Media Release

I grant permission to the Event organizers to use photographs, video, and other media of me taken during the Event for promotional, advertising, or educational purposes, without compensation and without restriction.

8. Minors

If registering a minor, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and that I consent to the minor’s participation. I accept all terms of this waiver on the minor’s behalf.

9. Agreement

By submitting my registration, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to this Liability Waiver & Release of Claims. I understand that this is a legally binding document and accept all terms voluntarily.
