This Gravity Forms webinar introduced Gravity Forms DevTools, a free set of tools from Gravity Wiz designed to make building, testing, and troubleshooting forms faster. The session focused less on hardcore development and more on practical workflow improvements for anyone who works with Gravity Forms regularly.
Dave from Gravity Wiz demonstrated how DevTools can be installed through Spellbook, the Gravity Wiz plugin hub, and then walked through the most useful features for everyday users. The biggest highlight was Preview Tools, which improves the normal Gravity Forms preview experience. Users can preview forms on the front end without creating a page, enable AJAX testing, reveal hidden fields, bypass required fields, collapse multi-page forms into one page, disable notifications during testing, and ignore form restrictions like entry limits.
A major theme was reducing friction. For example, hidden fields can capture useful data like UTM parameters, referral URLs, or event IDs, but they can be hard to debug. DevTools makes those hidden values visible during testing. Similarly, “Unrequire” and “Single Page” modes help users test complex forms without repeatedly filling out every field or clicking through every page.
The webinar also covered quality-of-life improvements inside the form builder. The Admin Bar Form Manager gives quick access to forms and new form creation. One-click field deletion, Quick Add and Field Search, and active-form filtering help speed up repetitive tasks. For more advanced troubleshooting, the Admin Bar Plugin Manager lets users quickly activate, deactivate, or switch between installed plugin versions to diagnose conflicts.
The broader takeaway is that DevTools is not only for developers. It is most useful for people who frequently build, edit, or troubleshoot Gravity Forms. Even small time-saving features can add up when working across multiple forms or complex workflows. The session closed with a preview of future DevTools improvements, including better detection of broken calculations and conditional logic issues.
